Gladys King’ori is a former banker and Fintech Entrepreneur; she is transforming the financial services in Kenya through technology. She is passionate about financial service inclusion, access and delivery in Africa. Gladys’ background in providing financial services has spanned 11 years, working in many sectors including business, public and private service. She serves as an inspiration to women who aspire to break new grounds in technology.
Razor-sharp, she graduated from Africa Nazarene University, Nairobi where she earned a B.Sc. in Computer Science then left for Strathmore University in 2012 to earn her Master’s in Business Administration, with a major in Strategic Management.
Between 2012 and 2013, she was the Product Development Manager for Equity Bank Limited where she was in charge of designing presentations, prototyping solutions, UI design and process mapping.
As the Assistant Project Manager for Financial Sector Deepening, Kenya in 2015, Gladys was part of the team that established E-money association and the implementation of national switch.
She has expertise in Product Development Strategy and Planning, and founded ZOA Tech to provide a financial management platform that offers end-to-end access to financial services anywhere, anytime and from any device.
She leads product and technical development with work experience ranging from large banks like Equity Bank and Commercial Bank of Africa to a non-profit organization, Financial Sector Deepening, Kenya.
Her Work:
Gladys is the Chief of Product for ZOA Tech Limited and together with a team of Tech Marketers and other Project Managers, she developed the first national switch in Kenya and East Africa that allows any banked customer to send up to KES10,000 to any other banked customer instantly via mobile transfer and internet banking.
While working as a Project Management Consultant for Independent, Nairobi in 2017, she implemented Digital Financial Systems, Quick Response (QR) Code payment, financial inclusion and access with Cash-lite development.
